The Art of Becoming

My first experience cataloguing was chaotic; my emotions ranged from disoriented, anxious, disheartened and frustrated. Yet, beneath all of this was a strong zeal, a bona fide passion to understand the records strewn before me.

And so, as I left the busy room, animated by jovial discussions, interviews and new introductions, I felt content that the event had provoked such interest, yet quietly disappointed in my own lack of confidence when it came to fully engaging with the visitors. Still, I did my best.

Dod yn ôl at fy nghoed

Nature and death are inseparable, both fundamental to human existence, yet easily overlooked amid the pandemonium that is life itself. In this sense, the Welsh proverb dod yn ôl at fy nghoed means to me more than simply “to return to my tree,” or even “to return to a balanced state of mind.” Rather, it invites a deeper question: what is true balance?
